Parents, thank you for visiting this page.

Spanish 4 / Niagara University Spanish 103 is an entry-level college course designed by Dr. McCutcheon, Professor of Spanish at Niagara University.  Successful completion of the course (a course grade of C or better) will earn students 3 college credits. The credits are transferable, so if a student chooses to attend a college or university other than Niagara, the credit will go with them.

There is a cost to take the course.  In recent years, the cost has been $220.00.  Please stay tuned to find out if the cost has increased.  As soon as I know, I will let your child know.  Students will have to register and pay online at the Niagara University website.  When Niagara provides me with the latest registration information, I will pass it along.

After registering, your child will be a part-time student of Niagara University.  As a student of Niagara, he/she will be issued a student number.  Students will able to purchase student-cost tickets to Niagara sporting events and use the facilities on campus (including the library).

The Syllabus, course outline, grading proceedures, midterm exam, final exam, and some of the assignments that the students will complete come from Niagara University.  Quizzes, chapter tests, daily tasks, some of the readings, poetry, legends, and myths that the class will complete are created or selected by me, Srta. Selice.

Students must remember that this is a college level course.  The expectation is that students will be self-motivated, willing and able to complete many of the tasks with a minimum of teacher direction.  My job, as teacher, is to facilitate learning by giving students a solid base to stand on as they progress in their study of Spanish. In other words, they will be expected to rise to the challenge of college-level work by completing many tasks, readings, and writing on their own, outside of class.

Of course, I will always be available to help.  Students can find me in room 127 (periods 2 and 4), and in the cafeteria (period 3).

Academic integrity is an important part of this course.  Please visit the Syllabus Page for more specific information regarding Niagara University policy, academic policy, grading proceedures, and more.
