About Spanish 1

Spanish 1 is a course designed to allow students to gain minimum proficiency in Spanish while gaining their high school credit.

Students must earn one high school credit in Spanish or French in order to graduate.

In this class, students are required to complete tasks that allow them to listen, speak, read, and write in Spanish.

All tasks are worth credit in class and grades are calculated in a simple average:  total number of points earned divided by total number of points available (assigned).

Students are required to come to class on time and prepared to learn.  Being prepared means having a folder or 3-ring binder with class materials, and blue or black ink pen to write with.

Since many of the tasks involve speaking Spanish, attendance in class is mandatory.  There are no "take-home" versions of this type of assignment.
